Where Have I Been...?
Okay Okay, I'm such a slacker. When I started this blog, I was so excited and just could not blog enough! But now as I am getting into the swing of summer, I forgot all about my poor little blog. :( Sad! Anyways, I have a job now! Working at a tanning salon conveniently close to home. It's owned by some family friends who were nice enough to let me work at their business because I needed a little extra money (my parents are getting tired of supporting my TjMaxx addiction I think..) I've been working there for about a week now, and I got paid for the first time in my life from a REAL JOB today. I'm responsible. haha. Anyways, I've been up to alot. Honestly, theres so much that I have been doing and I am so busy that I can't even remember it all to write about it. Oh, my friend had a birthday! Yeah, I can write about that. It was her 16th a couple of days ago. I had to work, but the party was nice enough to wait on me to get there to have the scavenger hunt :) How sweet! It was a blast, our team (Myself, the birthday girl, and my friend Erin) were purposely last because Sarah's car was waiting on her when we got back! I loved the look on her face. There's nothing better than seeing a truly happy smile coming from somebody you love. I'm gonna try to step it up on this whole blogging thing before I completely lose my writing skills! Real posts coming soon!

New.
New. Think about that word. What does it mean to you? Typically, when I think of this word.. I think about shopping. The image of clothes with tags on them that still smell like the store, the sound of me zipping up my wallet after I put the little bit of money in it that I have left after my trip to TjMaxx. But there is so much more to "new" than that.
New- having recently come into existence, having been seen, used, or known for a short time, being other than the former or old
That was webster's definition of "new". Have you ever been in that place where you are just so eager to start something? You know it's right there at your fingertips and you're reaching and reaching.. but it's just not there yet? When you're just so eager for that something else.. for that new thing? Yeah. I know that feeling too. Its like the jog before the sprint, the breath before the kiss, the smile before the laugh, the old familiar roads before you hit the highway.. etc. All sounds very cliche. Thats probably because it is. I'm sure alot of you know what I'm trying to say.
I have been doing some serious thinking.. and I think that I have come to the conclusion that sometimes Its just best to sit back and watch life unfold in front of you. Stop trying to make it all work and just let it happen. Wait it out. Love what you've got while you've got it.. and embrace the new with open arms.

Fred, Freda, and Flocka
Well, I just got home from the lake. Again. Although I seem to go pretty frequently, I never get tired of it. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of this go around to share with you all.. but i just feel like telling you about it. I accompanied one of my really close friends to the lake for a "family get-together" where she is usually the only girl. But we were very happy when we arrived to discover that there was another girl just around our age who would be staying for the weekend, too. That was a pleasant surprise. Oh, and this trip also confirmed my assumption that T-Mobile is CRAP. No service. At all. I got really frustrated standing on the edge of the dock trying to get service, so I turned it off. It was actually very refreshing to have no outside world contact for a couple of days.
Anyways.. As soon as we got there, my friend decides that she is going to jump off the roof of where the boat was docked (don't know the name of the thing..). I did it once.. but I just wasnt gutsy enough to give it a second go around. The weather was beautiful, and the sun was shining like I'd never seen in my life. If I remember correctly, there were about 11 kids there total. We all went "Double tubing" which is the act of putting two inner tubes behind one boat. I got stuck in the middle of them and about died, so that was the end of that for me.
When we weren't tubing, riding the sea doos, or just taking a boat ride, we were all floating in the water or just chillin' in the sunny back yard. There were a couple of ducks (which I named Fred and Freda) that loved to get really close to us and follow us around. Freda got dangerously close to me and I had a small heart attack. Eventually, another duck came along and stuck around with the other two. My friend's brother named him Flocka. Fred, Freda, and Flocka and the rest of the kids became pretty good friends.
I arrived home today tired, happy, and a little burnt (i tried too hard to add on to my tan I think). I'll post some interesting blogs really soon! Hopefully. :)

Summer Loves. (so far..)
Well, so far.. I am really really loving summer. As the warm weather gets even warmer, I venture outside more often. I have discovered some things that I truly enjoy and I am going to share them all with you. Feel special. :)
Fireflies. They are bountiful in the south. As a little girl, Daddy and I would always catch these in the yard right when the sun was going down. I was recently with one of my friends while she was walking her dog, and there were so many. They were sooo pretty. These little creatures literally leave me fascinated.

Swinging. Okay, admit it. You love to swing. No matter how old you are, its something about leaning back with your eyes closed and feeling the wind rush past you. I still like to imagine that I'm a jillion feet up in the air and nothing can ever touch me. My car. Okay.. well.. this isn't a picture of my car. But it might as well be. It looks exactly like this. I just didn't have a picture of mine.. haha. My friend and I have recently decided that the car's name is Natasha. Even though I can't legally drive her yet, I still like to clean it out and wash it and sit in it and know that it's mine. There's something about knowing that something is YOURS. Feels good.

Yep. Sidewalk Chalk. As you know, I babysit my little cousins during the week and they are ALWAYS bored. This is probably their favorite thing to do. I have to admit, I like it alot too. :)

Love.
Hydrangea- A genus of shrubby plants bearing opposite leaves and large heads of showy flowers, white, or of various colors. A native of China or Japan.

If you know me at all, you know that I love all things hydrangea. I love everything about them! I have about three vases of them in my room, and I get so excited when I see them! It may be something about their bountiful color that gets me so happy, but I really don't know. I'm currently trying to grow two bushes of my own and I cannot wait until they get really big and I can pick some off. Anywho, I love these flowers and they brighten my day. I found some pictures online (I had some time on my hands obviously) and I hope they make your day a little happier!

Rain.
For about the third or fourth day in a row, I'm sitting in my comfortably squishy living room recliner listening to nothing but the sound of a tv on somewhere in the house and the thunder. It has been raining so so much for the past couple of days. I used to love the rain when I was little and had enough energy to play in it, no matter how cold it was... but as I got older and grew to love the sunshine more, I have started to really dislike the rainy weather. I know I shouldn't be so pessimistic... BUT I have decided that Its time to accept the rain. Its time to accept that theres always gonna be some bad before there can be some good. You know.. some people make the best of the rain. Some people make the best of the bad. It's time for me to do that. I think its time for everybody to do that. It may be raining now, but after this is over, there's a big ol' rainbow waiting to be appreciated.

All Things Small
I have always had a love for all things small. I just love miniature versions of things. Tiny Coke cans, tiny baby clothes, little shoes, miniature animals, baby sized nail polishes, etc. Something about them makes me so excited! I'm really not sure why, but things that should be big but are really really small just have my heart. Of course, I like some things normal sized.. or maybe a little bigger. Like Ice Cream cones.. those are better big! And steak. But back to the point.. Theres one small thing that makes me happier than anything else.
This is my sweet nephew Braxton. He is the happiest, cutest baby I have ever seen in my whole life! I could be having the worst day of my life, but when he crawls towards me with asparagus in his mouth and laughs at me when I say his name, I forget that I was ever sad. I love all things small, but I especially love this little man.
